Hyundai is all set to unveil 2013 Santa Fe Fluidic Crossover SUV at the upcoming April New York Motor Show. The images of the Fluidic design of the Santa Fe called the Storm Edge have already emerged on the internet sometime ago. New details about the engine too have been released. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Fluidic is likely to be powered by a 2.2 turbo diesel engine that drives an exceptional power of 225 BHP and a gigantic torque of 500 Nm. This engine is the twin turbo version of the 2.2 liter Gamma common rail turbo diesel engine.

The single variable geometry turbocharger version of this engine produces a peak power of 197 BHP and a peak torque of 420 NM. The 2013 Santa Fe has not only improved power and torque figures but has improved tail pipe emissions too with both CO2 and NOX level going down. The 2013 Santa Fe Fluidic is expected to be rolled by the end of this year or by the start of next year. The Santa Fe SUV is assembled in India through CKD kits at Hyundai’s facility in Chennai. India has always seen the latest engines from Hyundai and therefore can soon see the top of the line diesel engine in the market too.

With the use of the best in line turbo diesel engine the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Fluidic is expected to become the most powerful luxury SUV in the segment. It might get the better of the Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Chevrolet Captiva SUV. The new Storm Edge design philosophy of Santa Fe has crisply grazed the window line because of which the third window now is almost non-existing. This new Fluidic design may force Hyundai into adopting a 5 seat layout instead of the current 7 seat layout.
