What is the latest update on the Mahindra BE 6e?

Some powertrain details of the Mahindra BE 6e have been revealed ahead of its debut. It can get a choice between 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. In recent news, the interior of the new Mahindra electric car has been teased. It will have an illuminated steering wheel and dual-integrated screens inside.

When will the BE 6e launch?

The Mahindra BE 6e will be globally unveiled on November 26 and is expected to arrive in India by October 2025.

The Mahindra BE 6e is expected to be a modern and feature-rich EV by the carmaker. It is likely to have a dual integrated screen setup (one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the driver’s display) and a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. It can also get multi-zone AC, a wireless phone charger, and a premium audio system.

What seating options will be offered with the BE 6e?

It will be offered in a 5-seater configuration.

What powertrain options can the BE 6e have?

Mahindra has revealed that the BE 6e will be offered with an option between a 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. It can come with rear-axle-mounted electric motors which will produce 231 PS to 285.5 PS. However, the BE 6e can also be offered with other drive configurations (front-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive).

What will be the Mahindra BE 6e's range?

The BE 6e is based on the INGLO platform which, Mahindra stated earlier, can have a claimed range between 450 km and 500 km. However, the model-specific range is yet to be revealed.

How safe will the BE 6e be?

Mahindra claims that The INGLO platform on which the BE 6e will be based on has been built keeping a 5-star Global NCAP crash rating in mind. However, we will have to wait for the EV’s crash test to come to a conclusion.

In terms of safety, it is likely to have six airbags (as standard), an electronic stability program (ESP) and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). We expect it to get advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) tech such as lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, and adaptive cruise control.
