What is the latest update on the Mahindra XEV 9e?

Some powertrain details of the Mahindra XEV 9e have been revealed ahead of its debut. It can get a choice between 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. In recent news, Mahindra has teased the interior of the XEV 9e electric SUV-coupe. The teaser showcases the tri-screen setup and illuminated screen inside.

When will the XEV 9e launch?

The coupe version of the XUV.e8 concept (which is the electric iteration of the Mahindra XUV700) will be unveiled on November 26, 2024. It is expected to be launched by April 2025.

What will be the price of the new Mahindra XEV 9e?

Prices of the Mahindra XEV 9e are expected to start from Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom).

What features is the Mahindra XEV 9e expected to get?

The XEV 9e is likely to have three integrated displays (digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen, and a passenger-side display), multi-zone automatic AC, ventilated and powered front seats, a wireless phone charger, and a premium sound system.

What seating options will be offered with the XEV 9e?

The Mahindra XEV 9e will be offered in a 5-seater layout.

What powertrain options can the XEV 9e have?

Mahindra has revealed that the XEV 9e will be offered with an option between 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. It can come with rear-axle-mounted electric motors which will produce 231 PS to 285.5 PS. However, the XEV 9e can also be offered with other drive configurations (front-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive).

Will support 175 kW DC fast charging, allowing 20 percent to 80 percent charging in 20 minutes.

How safe will the XEV 9e be?

The INGLO platform, Mahindra claims, has been built keeping a 5-star Global NCAP crash rating in mind. However, we will have to wait for the XEV 9e’s crash test to come to a conclusion.

In terms of safety, it is likely to have six airbags (as standard), an electronic stability program (ESP) and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). We expect it to get advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) tech such as lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, and adaptive cruise control.
