Aston Martin launched in India

The British are returning back to India but this time to rule the luxury car segment. Aston Martin the famous British car manufacturer today made a debut in one of the fastest growing auto Market on globe. The company has tightened its belt to start its sales in Indian auto market from today, i.e. 15th April 2011.

The first launch from the British auto mobile giant will be its stunning Aston Martin Rapide priced at Rs 1.55 crore in the Indian auto market. The other car model is Aston Martin one 77 which comes with a price tag of 20 Crores and Aston Martin V8 Vantage which is tagged at Rs 2.55 crore to come in the Indian auto market. These car models will enter the Indian shores as completely built unit (CBU). Aston Martin one77 comes with 7.3 litre V12 engine with Dry sump lubrication system. The luxury car can churn out 750 bhp of pinnacle power and beat a torque of 750 Nm.

The launch of the company is marked by a stunning ceremony organized at the Nariman Point in Mumbai. As the sole distributor of the Aston Martin cars, the company has selected Performance car which is a part of infinity Cars Pvt. Ltd.

Till the year 2007, Aston Martin was a part of Ford Motor Co. and after that the ownership was sold to a joint venture company co-owned by businessmen David Richards and John Sinders and Adeem Investment and Investment Dar of Kuwait. The entire deal was made for an investment of $848 million.
