Audi A8 bags Technology Breakthrough Award in US

The ultra luxurious and magnificent sedan, Audi A8 was awarded with the Technology Breakthrough Award in United States of America. The criteria for the selection of the winner in the category is given to the cars which have made a mark for being practical, affordable and include intuitive technology, establishing convenience and safety for passengers and drivers. Any new car launched in the last year is eligible for the award.

The premium 2011 Audi A8 was honoured with the recognition which can be accredited to the two state of the art in car technologies affixed in the luxury sedan. These are Audi's MMI Touch interface (touchpad) which allow the access to the drivers to track the characters by using fingers to type the destination information in the navigation system or to locate the contact in the phone already connected through Bluetooth.

The luxury dip from the auto makers also incorporates technologies like rear seat video system along with 10.2 inch twin monitors, the night viewing along with the pedestrian detection and Bang & Olufsen audio system. It also features navigation system which is capable of finding routes that can adjust the luxury car's adaptive cruise control and headlamps as required. It is still not confirmed whether that the new luxury car wagon will be affixed with these features when introduced in India.

For India, the luxury car Audi A8 will hit the Indian auto sector by 10th January 2011. The new sedan from the German auto manufacturer is swearing by on the growth which the luxury segment in the domestic auto market is expecting. The new luxury saloon will compete with the already established names in the country such as Mercedes S Class and BMW 7-series. The Audi A8 is stunner on road and is a technology freak unchained devil which will make the onlookers green with envy and its rivals insecure.

Audi A8 is manufactured to deliver high performance and will be available in petrol and diesel powertrain. The Audi A8 diesel mill is speculated to be loaded with 3.0 V6 Tdi which would offer a maximum output of 240 bhp. The mill has been taken from Audi A4, Audi Q5 and Audi A6. It also being learned that Audi A8 will come with 4.2 V8 Tdi diesel engine which is capable of churning 350 bhp, the same mill is also available in Audi Q5. In the petrol car version the sedan will come with a 4.2 DOHC V8 FSI engine.
