Chevrolet Sail Sedan and Hatchback Soon to Replace Aveo UV-A Hatchback and Notchback

General Motors India yesterday said it is planning to phase out few of its existing models like the Aveo and the Optra and will bring in new ones as a replacement. Speaking to the press on the occasion of launching the upgraded Chevrolet Cruze in Delhi, General Motors India President and MD, Lowell C Paddock said, "We will launch the Sail in both hatchback and sedan versions in the next few months.
This will replace the Aveo U-VA hatchback and Aveo sedan." Explaining it further, he said that these models are ageing, so this has become important to phase out them and bring in new models. Even though, he didn’t specify the exact time to phase these models out, but indicated, that it will not take much time.
The replacement models are well-known, the sail hatchback and the sedan. The company is planning to bring in the revamped version of its only compact hatchback, the Spark, which will come in a refreshed design and features. The new Spark is expected to come during the Indian festive month, September. Other on the cards for GM is, an MPV, Chevrolet Enjoy, which too has been said to come by the end of this year.
General Motors launched a new variant of its premium sedan, Chevrolet Cruze with an upgraded engine, priced between Rs 13.85 to 15.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the all new Chevrolet powers 2.0-litre diesel engine with a six-speed manual and automatic transmission. The company has launched an all new variant of its premium SUV, Captiva as well on Tuesday in a price range between Rs 18.74 to Rs 24.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It has come powered with a 2.2-litre diesel engine, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
