Fiat is currently mulling over to launch cars from its very own Chrysler portfolio in India. Chrysler’s portfolio comprise of the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge. As per the Senior VP of Corporate Commercial of Fiat India, Mr. Enrico Atanasio, the company is considering the cars from the alliance of Fiat-Chrysler portfolio and Fiat is going through the Chrysler cars constantly. He also said that one of the major vehicles that Fiat has been planning to launch in India is ‘people carrier type of vehicles’ which just like a SUV. Fiat is at present not really contended with the growth rate that it has obtained in India by far and therefore it has been trying to get a new tactic for the Indian car market. However, till now there is no concrete decision on which Chrysler car will be launched in India and which will be kept away for the time being.
Fiat is working hard on its future products. Recently, Fiat has been coming off from its dual existence that is the joint showrooms and dealerships it owns with Tata Motors. Opening up its individual showrooms will definitely be fruitful for Fiat’s future existence in the country. Fiat Motors has understood that Indian consumers aren’t comfortable with dual model approach. Fiat Motors has been working jointly with Tata Motors to keep a fine tune with its strategy for the Indian car market and as Fiat is a leader in European car market, it is certainly expected to present itself in Indian car market much better than in Europe car market. Mr. Enrico Atanasio also mentioned that the firm has also changed its advertising agency and has opted for a brand new advertising campaign, which will feature the current Fiat cars that has been tuned to suit the Indian road conditions. This tuning comprise of robust air conditioner, better ground clearance etc. On introducing Chrysler’s cars in India, he gave a green signal that for Fiat and Chrysler, China and India are certainly the biggest growth markets across the globe.
