The car sales in India have hit the rock bottom in the month of October, despite the onset of festival season. The car sales in India are expected to run down further by December, this year. Like any other car manufacturer today, the second largest hatchbacks manufacturer in the country, Hyundai India is implementing the discount strategy on all its petrol variants beginning with best-selling car Hyundai i10, Hyundai Santro Xing, Hyundai i20 and Hyundai Accent. The only cars saved from the disgrace of high discounts are the recently launched Hyundai EON, Hyundai Verna and Hyundai Santa Fe SUV.

Every other car we see plying on the Indian roads is Hyundai i10. Despite the high popularity of the car, the petrol variant is unsuccessful in escaping the clutches of the slow car market unruffled. The auto major has announced a discount on Hyundai i10 petrol to boost the sales of the car. Hyundai i20 is another car, which has also come under the grip of low sales growth. The unavailability of a diesel variant in the Hyundai i20 hatchback has proved rather to be a letdown as more consumers seem to opt for the diesel variant over the petrol car. Clearly disturbed by the phenomenon, the auto major has decided to lure the consumers into attraction in the form of free offer on 200 liter petrol to mark it to be the most impressive offer so far. The free petrol offer will translate to Rs 14,000 discount to captivate the consumers' attention straight away.

An overall discount of Rs 30,000 is offered on Hyundai Santro Xing comprising of exchange benefits, free insurance coverage for a limited period of time and a gift cheque. Despite the overwhelming sales of the car, cannibalisation in form of Hyundai Eon and lack of diesel variant has hit the car sales drastically. The major drawback for Hyundai cars is the lack of diesel variant, which has proved the point yet again. Hyundai Accent sales have been severely hit in the present grim conditions and auto major wishes to provide a ray of hope by offering a remarkable discount on the aging sedan as well.
