Hyundai not to phase out Santro after Eon's launch

Hyundai Motors has just unveiled its much awaited compact car, Hyundai Eon and this small car is expected to hit the Indian roads in the month of October. The official sketches showcased a complete package proffering packed in exterior dimensions along with functional as well as spacious interiors. The design of Hyundai Eon is however subjective and it is expected that car will glide on the roads smoothly.

There was news in the market earlier that Hyundai might discontinue Hyundai Santro after the arrival of Hyundai Eon, but thankfully, Hyundai Motors have dropped the decision to chop off Hyundai Santro. Both Hyundai Eon and Hyundai Santro will be offered to the Indian consumers. It has been more than a decade that Hyundai Motors has been selling Hyundai Santro in India. Hyundai Santro is the car, which had paved the way for Hyundai i10 and Hyundai Eon. In so many years, Hyundai Santro has built its own identity and a trust factor amongst the consumer that can’t be obtained via brand ambassadors or media campaigning.

Till now there has been no official word on the pricing of Hyundai Eon, but speculations suggest that the price will certainly be lower than Hyundai Santro. Hyundai Eon could be priced around Rs. 2.5 Lakh, which is near Maruti Alto. Hyundai Eon’s main aim is to give a tough competition to Maruti Alto, which is currently the best selling compact car in the country. Hyundai Motors claims that Hyundai Eon has more class, comfortable and trendy interiors along with stunning exteriors and a sizable boot design.
