In a bid to take its corporate social responsibility initiative one step ahead, the largest car maker in the Indian market Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced that it will be contributing as much as Rs 1 crore for the relief and rehabilitation process for the people of Ladakh, who have recently been hit by the biggest ever natural calamity in the history of this Sub-Himalayan province.
The announcement from the Indian auto giant came after the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh appealed for the contribution for this recent natural calamity in Ladakh. The sum of contribution will be deposited to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. The sum of Rs 1 crore includes the contribution from both company and its employees. Where every employee of the company will be contributing their one day’s salary, the company will be contributing the sum equal to the employees contribution.
We at Car Dekho hope that the generous gesture of the contribution from Maruti Suzuki Indian will inspire other car makers from India and they would also take similar initiatives and contribute in the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
