Maruti Kizashi ready to launch in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited intends to introduce Kizashi, company’s premium sedan model, in the Indian car market.Kizashi was revealed by the company at the Auto Expo 2010 held in Delhi. But at the same time the company had stated about it’s delayed plans for introducing the model by the end of the year. Kizashi has already been introduced in the Japanese and the American market and this new model has been quite successful over there. Now the same successful model is about to hit the Indian car market by December, 2010.

After Esteem, Swift Dzire, SX4 and Baleno, Maruti Suzuki’s Kizashi will be the fifth sedan in the Indian car market.  The new Kizashi will have a 2.4L petrol engine and generate 185 bhp of power. It will also feature six-speed manual transmission.  As the price of this new model has not yet been revealed so it is also not clear whether this new model Kizashi will compete with VW Jetta, Honda Civic and Skoda Laura or Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb and Honda Accord.

As far as Kizashi’s overseas market price is concerned, it is above Rs. 10 lakh . But the fact is that if the same model is imported in India as a totally built unit then this price can increase upto INR 17-18 lakh.
