Maruti K-series engine surpasses 10 lakh mark

Maruti India said that the the production of its K-series engine has crossed 10 lakh mark in the time period of three years. The company first launched this engine in India in 2008, powering Maruti A-Star, its flagship export model.The company officials said that this praised, acknowledged and the fuel efficient engine that powers Maruti's best selling cars like Maruti WagonR, Maruti Swift, Maruti Estilo and Maruti Alto-K10 has reached the mark of 10 lakh units. These K-series engines are manufactured at the Gurgaon facility of Maruti India.

Shashank Srivastava chief general manager (Marketing) of Maruti India said that the company feels proud that the Indian customers have acknowledged the mounting of K-series engine in their cars. He also added that being the market leader, the company has always tried to bring new technologies in the market and will continue to do so.

The figures disclosed by the company revealed that the company has powered almost 3.5 lakh Maruti A-Star, 1.9 lakh Maruti WagonR, 1.36 lakh Maruti Alto K-10, 1.05 lakh Maruti Estilo, 1.24 lakh Maruti Swift and 95,000 Maruti Ritz till date with its K-series engine.With this success the company also aims to maintain its position in the Indian market. The company has recently announced about its new car Maruti Swift that is proposed to be launched in the month of August. The company has also said that Maruti will launch its MPV Maruti R3 by the end of this year.

The company's production was affected due to the labour strike at the Manesar plant but now the company is taking proper steps to cope up with the loss and continue to rise in the Indian market.The company at present sells Maruti A-Star, Maruti Alto, Maruti Gypsy, Maruti Ritz, Maruti Swift Dzire, Maruti SX4, Maruti WagonR, Maruti ZEN Estilo and Maruti Kizashi under its brand in the market.
