Maruti Suzuki, Indo-japanese carmker, on Friday launched another hatchback 'Ritz' in five variants, three with petrol engines, LXi, VXi and Zxi, and two with diesel engines-LDi and VDi. The small car's petrol version has been priced at between Rs 390,000 and Rs 480,000. Whereas the diesel variant will cost between  Rs 456,000 and Rs 499,000 in the national capital. Ritz, a variant of Suzuki's European car Splash, will be available in India with two different engine options: a new 1.2-litre, four-cylinder 85 PS petrol version, and 1.3-litre, 16-valve DDiS, 75 PS diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi told reporters here that Ritz would be the first Bharat Stage-IV emission norms compliant Indian car. The compact car has been developed on the existing hatch-back Swift's platform and common usage of the platform helped the company to offer Ritz at a lower price. Also higher level of localisation, Ritz has 85% of localisation,  helped the company in reducing the cost. When asked about the sales target of the car Nakanishi said, no such target is fixed as it was difficult to predict the future. He added that Maruti has capacity to meet all requirements.
