Maruti Ritz achieves 1-lakh sales mark

Maruti has yet another model to boast about. Maruti Ritz, a model from the company which had earlier achieved the fastest ever sales of 50,000 units has this time, in the A -2 segment, has clocked the fastest ever sales of 100,000 units. Maruti Ritz was introduced in May 2009. Since its launch, the product has received an unbelievable response. During the time of its launch, the Maruti Ritz made flutter in the 'A-2 premium' segment which was quite competitive. The model was also hot-listed by the industry as well as by the media. The model started getting many achievements later on. It won the Car-of-the-Year award in India and abroad for its wonderful looks and great style, appreciable safety features and also its quality of balancing dynamic experience of driving full of comfort. The model has always shown excellence in road handling too.
Maruti Ritz is also appreciated for its wonderful fuel efficiency with mileage figures such as 17.7 kmpl in petrol and 21.1 kmpl in diesel. Mr. Mayank Pareek, Managing Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), commented that they are simply overwhelmed by the wonderful response provided by the Maruti Ritz customers. This model was targeted at the company’s discerning customers who while taking care of the traditional Maruti Suzuki attributes of reliability, fuel efficiency, and performance, also wished for contemporary looks in the vehicle. He added that the fastest one lakh sales mark is the endorsement of the customers to all these attributes that the model stands for.
Maruti Ritz has been developed on the successful platform of Maruti Swift. It is placed at the compact car market’s premium-end. The engineers of Maruti Suzuki put efforts with the design team of Suzuki in Japan for co-designing the model and bring out some changes which are India-specific. These features include improved suspension, superior transmission, better ground clearance etc. Maruti Ritz was also the first BS IV complaint car of India to be introduced in the passenger car segment. This model is available in 2 powertrain options which are 1.2-litre, four-cylinder K Series petrol engine with maximum power of 85 PS and also the highly successful 1.3-litre, DDiS diesel unit which provides a maximum power of 75 PS. The Maruti Ritz is available with the Drive-by-wire technology in both diesel and petrol versions.
