Since the launch of the facelifted version of small car Ritz is fast approaching, the first Maruti Ritz Facelift Pictures have hit the internet. While undergoing rigorous testing regime the car was caught in lens and the pictures taken reveal that Maruti Suzuki India has rendered improved exteriors and interiors to the car. Maruti Ritz Facelift spy pics suggest that on the outside, while the headlamps of the original version have been retained the fog lamp enclosures have been given an angular and chic shape than before. The grille in the original version had the number plate running through it which divided it into two; the Maruti Ritz facelift has received one big trapezoidal grill with number plate sitting in the centre topped with the big Suzuki logo. Minor tweaks can be seen in the hood, the bumpers, the wheels and the tailgate. The interiors also have been rendered a tad of improvement.
Under the hood, the car has not been bestowed with major uplifts; however the 1.2-liter K-series engine has been joined with the VVT technology which has resulted in the enhanced power of 86 BHP at 6000 RPM and torque of 114 Nm at 4500 RPM. No doubt the difference is of mere 2 BHP in power and 1 Nm in torque but this also makes a marked difference in the performance of the small car Maruti Rtiz which is sure to be way more friendly than the original version.
The Maruti Ritz diesel will not receive any upgrades in the engine, but the fuel tanks will be turned into plastic tanks which are anticipated to cut down on the weight and add on to the fuel economy. These facelifts are furnished in order to make up for the time lag till the new Ritz hits the showrooms in 2014. The new Maruti Ritz will be sitting on the platform of Maruti Swift hatchback which is tried and tested one; the interiors will also be inspired from the same. The plans for the new Ritz include new and rich features for the diesel variant and an automatic transmission for the petrol variant.
