As we reported earlier, Maruti Suzuki recalled 1.5 lakh Dzire models, now the company does the same with its Swift hatch and Ertiga models. This is the second time these models are called back as in last November, the company called back cars for a faulty steering column.
This time, the fault is with the fuel leak, like when fuel is filled upto the fuel cap exceeding auto cutoff level, there are chances of fuel leak, as stated by the company. In between 12th November'13 to 4th February'14, the company produced 103,311 affected vehicles that include (42,481 units of Dzire, 47,237 units of Swift and 13,593 units of Ertiga). Maruti dealers will be calling the car owners and will get the faulty parts repaired free of cost. Maruti has already dispatched the component to dealer workshops.
To make it easy for the customers, the company's website provides the information to check if their car is part of the list of vehicles to be recalled. Customers just need to enter their chassis number, and the website will tell the car falls in the list or not.
