The wait is finally over, General Motors has just launched the Chevrolet Cruze with an all new engine today. Nothing else has been changed in the existing vehicle except the engine to make it better in drivability and fuel economy. Whereas the old Chevrolet Cruze had the 1991cc engine with a five-speed automatic transmission, the new version has 2.0-litre Z series engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, which is now capable of churning out 163bhp and 360Nm of torque. Even though the new engine doesn't make the Cruze faster but improves the acceleration and stability, thus a better drivability.
There are a few other features that have been added as well like dead pedal as standard, new 6-way power adjsutable drivers seat, new power windows featuring anti-pinch technology. Other than that, a new surround audio system too has been installed. The new Cruze has been launched in three variants, LT Manual at Rs 13.85 Lakhs, LTZ Manual at Rs 14.77 lakhs and LTZ AT at Rs 15.67 Lakhs. We have reported this earlier as well, that the launch would be twin-fold, the first phase completes today, while the second phase would cover the launch in Mumbai on June 29th.
Stay tuned for more updates. Cheers!!
