Volkswagen budget brand to be announced in 2014

Like Datsun from Nissan, Volkswagen is also planning to introduce a budget brand to increase its market share in developing nations. Such brands directly targets the budget oriented buyers, who want good products at an affordable range. Now, VW group understand the need of an hour, and is all set to produce a new budget friendly brand.
According to some media reports, the company is doing feasibility test as to whether a good product can be develop with all the safety and other standard, and still managed to be sold at an affordable price. The new brand will directly compete against the likes of Dacia and Datsun.
The final announcement on the low-cost brand will be made next year. The first product from the new brand will be launched in the Chinese market. The exact pricing strategy hasn't been revealed by the company.
