Volkswagen Golf got World car of the year award

At this year's New York Auto Show, an independent jury of 59 selected the Volkswagen Golf for the prestigious World Car of the Year award. The world car of the year award is often considered as the most indisputable as its jury comittee is entirely independent and is formed by the automobile journalists of 22 different countries around the world. To qualify any car for this award state is that it must be on sale in at least 2 continents around the world.

The latest version of the Volkswagen Golf was selected as the World Car of the Year 2009, besting out competition that came from the likes of the new Ford Fiesta and the much talked about Toyota iQ. The new Volkswagen Golf is the third largest selling car in the world. In its sixth generation now, the new Volkswagen Golf has made waves across the world by being the the most safe, most technically advanced and dynamic Golf yet.
