Maruti Suzuki which has been constantly facing a tough time at its Manser facility, is once again in the trouble due to an alleged fight between workers and management officials at the plant on Wednesday. In the violent clash, one person was killed and about 90 were injured. Inspecting the situation going worse, MSI has decided to keep their factor closed on Thursday.
Maruti Suzuki inspected the production loss of over $500 million last year as well because of labour strike at the similar plant. Following the violent clash, company's shares as well inspected a dip of more than 8 per cent. The spokesman for Maruti Suzuki, Puneet Dhawan reported that the Manesar plant workers attacked senior officials in protest and left the plant at fire.
The administration wing of the manufacturing plant of the Swift and Dzire were burnt down by the protesting workers. In fact worker burnt some car models, which were parked outside the plant. "The police have taken charge of the premises, One body was recovered from the premises, it is charred beyond recognition." he further added. As per the media reports, the agitation was started due to suspension of a worker from the quality department due to his alleged involvement in the fight with the management officials.
He had been suspended once in the past as well because of his misbehaviour with his supervisor. FYI, the company's Manser facility by producing 550,000 vehicles an year account for 1/3rd of the total production done by Maruti Suzuki in India. We wish everything gets back on the track soon.
