Tata Aria to get higher production for the surging demand in Asia

Indian auto major, Tata Motors has finally got its sword to fight the long ignored utility vehicle segment which had major players like Mahindra & Mahindra and the huge Japanese player Toyota. The newly launched Tata Aria is introduced in markets with three exciting variants, Tata Aria Pride, Tata Aria Prestige and Tata Aria Pleasure. The pricing of this car model is placed between a range of Rs 13 and Rs 16 lakh. The availability of Tata Aria is made through 65 dealerships which are spread through 25 cities.

As per a few reports, the Indian major has now pulled its sleeves to ramp up the production process of this crossover utility vehicle owing to the high demand the car model is facing in the auto world. As per the report, SG Saxena who is the head, utility vehicles in Tata Motors has commented that Tata Aria has been receiving a great response from the market which is evident from the fact that it is the second-highest selling car in the Utility Vehicle (UV) segment leaving behind 15 competitors. The reports claim a share of 14% for Tata Aria in the Utility Vehicle segment amounting to 225-250 units selling every month. For now the segment ruler is Toyota Fortuner from the Japanese car maker. Toyota Fortuner at present enjoys 57 per cent market share and has sold a total of 15,000 units since its launch.

The reports also revealed that the other Indian competitor, Mahindra & Mahindra, which holds three models, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Bolero and Mahindra Xylo, has enjoyed a jump in market share from earlier 43 per cent to 55 per cent in 2009. this is the period when Tata Motors showed a drop from 22%to 13%. Among the other major players we have Toyota Innova, Toyota Fortuner, Honda CRV, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Terracan, Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Endeavour.
