Latest Update: The most powerful Land Rover Defender Octa with a twin-turbo V8 has been unveiled globally.

Price: It is priced from Rs 97 lakh to Rs 2.85 crore (ex-showroom).

Variants: The Land Rover Defender comes in three body styles in India: 90, 110, and 130. It is offered in a total of seven variants in all body styles: SE, HSE, X-Dynamic, X, Outbound, V8, V8 Carpathian, new Octa and a limited-run Octa Edition One.

Seating Capacity: The Land Rover Defender comes in 5-, 7-, and 8-seater configurations.

Engine and Transmission: The Land Rover Defender comes in five engine options:

A 2-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol: 300 PS and 400 Nm
A 3-litre six-cylinder diesel with 48V mild-hybrid tech: 350 PS and 700 Nm
A 5-litre V8 petrol: 425 PS and 550 Nm
A 5-litre supercharged V8 petrol: 525 PS and 625 Nm
A 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid tech: 635 PS and 750 Nm

All engine options get an 8-speed automatic gearbox and Land Rover’s AWD system with a low-range transfer case.

Features: Key features include an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a six-speaker audio system, 14-way adjustable front seats with heated and cooled captain seats and an air purifier.

Safety: Safety features include multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera with park assist, electronic traction control, cornering braking control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and dynamic stability control. It also gets an advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) suite including features like driver drowsiness detection.

Rivals: The Land Rover Defender rivals the Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
