Latest Update: The Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift has been launched in India.

Price: The Mercedes-Benz GLS Priced between Rs 1.32 crore and Rs 1.37 crore (ex-showroom pan India).

Variants: It is available in two variants: GLS 450 and GLS 450d.

Colour Options: The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS is available in 5 monotone colour options for the GLS: Polar White, Obsidian Black, High-tech Silver, Selentine Grey, and Sodalite Blue.

Engine & Transmission: It is equipped with two engine options:

  • A 3-litre 6-cylinder turbo-petrol (381 PS / 500 Nm)

  • A 3-litre 6-cylinder diesel (367 PS / 750 Nm)

Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and a 48V mild-hybrid system. All-wheel-drive (AWD) is standard for both petrol and diesel variants.

Features: Key features include a dual 12.3-inch screen (MBUX infotainment display and digital driver’s display), 5-zone climate control, a 13-speaker Burmester 3D sound system, ambient lighting, powered tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety: Safety features comprise up to nine airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto emergency braking.

Rivals: The Mercedes-Benz GLS competes with the BMW X7. It is a larger 7-seater alternative to the Range Rover Sport, and Audi Q8.

“The Mercedes-Benz GLS, in the facelifted guise, is priced from Rs 1.21 crore to Rs 1.37 crore (ex-showroom pan-India). At that price, it does justify its aggressive price tag by packing in the best of performance from both its diesel and petrol powertrains, a suite of premium and luxury and safety features, and striking looks inside and out. That said, a better-designed cabin and some additional features would certainly have made it an even more compelling choice.”

Mercedes-Benz is offering the India-spec GLS facelift with both a 3-litre turbo-petrol (381 PS/ 500 Nm) and a 3-litre diesel (367 PS/ 750 Nm) engine. Both come with a 9-speed AT and all-wheel-drive (AWD). There’s also a 48 V mild-hybrid system on board that adds 20 PS and 200 Nm to the engine output on tapping the accelerator pedal hard.

We had the petrol engine to sample and we must say, it is a very refined unit. The engine feels responsive right off the bat, considering the massive 500 Nm output. So be it for daily city commutes or your occasional trips on the highway, the new GLS petrol won’t ever feel in need of much effort.

Power is delivered in a linear fashion in all driving scenarios and it’s quite easy to cross the 100 kmph mark on straight roads in the Mercedes-Benz GLS. Its gearshifts are also quick and thankfully free of jerks, offering a calmer driving experience overall.

    The grand Benz I always wanted a benz. So i bought one. This was the perfect one for me. Because the comfort level this thing offers is on an another level. 350 Hp just drags the car like nothing. it is more than needed. that extra power really helps in city conditions. all with a average mileage of 7 kmpl it is really good. but it is a little more on the pricier side.

    An amazing addition to my family has been the Mercedes-Benz GLS I bought from the Delhi showhouse. The GLS has really remarkable and elegant design. Family travels are fun because to the roomy and opulent interiors featuring adjustable seating choices. Fantastic are the sophisticated elements including panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, and big touchscreen infotainment system. The car rides quite well thanks to its strong engine and flawless handling. The fuel economy is one area needing work. Still, the GLS has made our family trips enjoyable and cosy.

    Smooth And Great To Drive
    GLS is performing remarkably well and also suitable for off roading thanks to its mild hybrid and smooth engine. The mild hybrid engine make the drive pleasant and enjoyable and inside the car dashboard is really very gorgeous. The seats are absolutely big and comfortable even the last row get lot of functions but not very comfortable for adults. Ground clearance is excellent and get lots of new tech and features and i think its a well all rounder package.

    Really Very Powerful Engine
    I am getting the most powerful diesel engine with great power delivery and in both city and highway the engine is really well and makes driving very effortless. Definetly GLS comes with the most luxurious cabin and interior and is really really comfortable also in back seat. It gives a nice, soft and comfortable ride and with refinement the engine is really smooth and get pretty nice steering but at high speed it gives a lot of body roll.
